Arnold Fencing Classic
Our Under-14 Mixed Foil Team won the silver medal in a very exciting gold medal match in the Arnold Fencing Classic on March 7 in Columbus, Ohio. It was all part of the Arnold Fitness EXPO, which included seven Olympic Sports: Fencing; gymnastics; weightlifting; running; table tennis; judo; and taekwondo. It also included the Arnold Classic and Ms. International professional bodybuilding competitions, and the Fitness International and Figure International professional contests to judge the world's most fit and shapely physiques. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made an entrance, and our fencers were able to get a group photo with the Terminator! Head Coach, Iana Dakova, coached the Team, which consisted of Dani Bendicksen, Josh Grill, Tristan Jackson and Ben Jagger. Congratulations!
The Elite portion of the competition included many of the fencers, which will be representing the USA at the Athens Olympics, and it was a great opportunity for our young fencers to see some of the best in the world! For more information on next year's Arnold Fencing Classic, and the Arnold Fitness EXPO, visit their websites at www.arnoldfencingclassic.com and www.arnoldfitnessEXPO.com. We look forward to next year!
